Lyft Energy Sticks are basically a slightly sweetened powdered caffeine and vitamin blend inside of a stir stick.
Once the seal is broken Lyft can be stirred into any beverage turning it into an energy drink.
The nutrition label lists 0 calories - and 1 gram of sugar. That does not compute, so we have listed with 4 calories.
We were sent a few samples by the company to try out.
Lyft Review
I decided to stir my Lyft Stick into just an 8 fl. oz. glass of water.
After a few seconds of figuring out how to open the product I was ready to stir, however, I should have followed the directions more carefully because when I removed the seal some of the powder spilled out on my desk.
The stick should be placed over the glass when breaking the seal.
The stick itself has small holes in it, so you are simply to stir the drink for 10 seconds allowing the powder to dissolve as the liquid enters the stick.
Well in a perfect world maybe....
After 10 seconds there was still plenty of white particles in my water and there was still some product left in the bottom of the stir stick.
In fact, some of the product never dissolved.
Taste?
Lyft doesn't taste like much of anything. It is slightly sweet and just slightly bitter, so even drinking it in plain water with nothing else added is doable.
I also tried Lyft in some Cherry Coke Zero, again despite it not dissolving completely, the product's taste was undetectable.
The Lyft?
Depending on whether or not all of the product gets into the beverage, Lyft is supposed to deliver 120mg of green coffee extract derived caffeine along with Vitamins A, B12, B6, B3, and B5.
The caffeine in Lyft is similar to an 8 fl.oz. cup of brewed coffee, so expect a similar effect.
Personally, I felt it worked about the same as a cup of coffee.
The Purpose?
There have been other products similar to Lyft, but this one is unique with its built in stir stick, making it perfect for on-the-go use.
Also this product is useful for those who don't like coffee or energy drinks, but still need a caffeine lift. Lyft can be stirred into anything including healthy beverages like coconut water and juices.
I think if Lyft Energy could solve the not dissolving problem, they would have an even better product.
