Tru Blood Energy is a novelty beverage inspired by the hit HBO show Tru Blood. Since the show is about vampires, the drink is supposed to mimic blood of course, but, it's like a traditional soda when drinking. Tru Blood is blood orange mixed with fruit punch flavored and is carbonated.
Innovative?
You may remember Blood Energy Potion that actually mimicked the consistency of blood as well, however, Tru Blood Energy Drink is placed in a dark red bottle to give it just the appearance of blood.
Energy Drink or Soda?
It seems that there is some confusion weather it is a soda or an energy drink. It has a smaller amount of caffeine than a traditional energy drink, but then it does contain B vitamins, which wouldn't be typical of a soda. It's kind of a hybrid drink really. We're not sure how mainstream Tru Blood Beverage will become, but as for now it's available online or at retailers such as BevMo and Total Wine. This blood is expensive at around 5 dollars per bottle! Some have found it cheaper so look around.
