AeroPress Coffee
An AeroPress brews coffee using a quick immersion-and-pressure method.
Ground coffee is placed in a chamber fitted with a paper or metal filter, then hot water is poured in and allowed to steep briefly.
After a short stir or swirl, a plunger is pressed down, creating gentle air pressure that forces the brewed coffee through the filter into the cup.
The fluid amount depends on the size of the Aeropress.
Caffeine amounts
Caffeine amounts listed on this page come from research into different extraction methods, where AeroPress was found to have 0.78 mg caffeine per mL. In this particular test, Aeropress resulted in slightly more caffeine extraction than a V60 filter coffee.
Note that different AeroPresses are different sizes. An original AeroPress has 8 fl oz in the brew chamber, so therefore extracts less than this (6-7 oz). Correspondingly, the caffeine amounts will be less. We also presume a ground coffee dose size of 16 grams.
