Black Insomnia Coffee is a brand of coffee from South Africa, who now claim to have the "world's strongest cup of coffee".

However, they are neck and neck with Death Wish Coffee and a few other brands featured here

A 12 fl oz cup of Death Wish averages around 728 mg while the same amount of Black Insomnia Coffee averages around 702 mg. (More recent lab tests conducted by Black Insomnia challenge Death Wish's 728 mg claim)

Like its competitor, Black Insomnia uses robusta coffee beans but has sourced robusta beans that have the highest levels of caffeine.

This coffee should be used with caution and only by people who have a high tolerance to caffeine. Just one 12 fl oz cup is almost double the recommended safe daily dose of caffeine the average adult should consume.

Although this brand started in South Africa, it will be available in the US, Europe, and Australia soon.

See our Coffee Overdose Calculator to find out how much Black Insomnia is appropriate for you.
