Coffee Leaf Tea is a relatively new caffeinated product to the western world and it's made from the leaves of the arabica coffee plant.

A couple of young entrepreneurs wanted to find a way to help organic coffee farmers in Nicaragua and while doing research, found a study touting the health properties of coffee leaves.

Thus the idea for Coffee Leaf Tea was born as a way to help coffee farmers earn more money from their coffee crop especially during times of coffee bean price fluctuation. Also, as a way to give consumers a new healthy hot beverage option.

Their company ( recently sent us some samples to try out.

Coffee Leaf Tea Review

This product looks a lot like regular tea and is steeped pretty much the same; in water just under the boiling point and for about 3 minutes.

If black tea and coffee had a baby, it would taste like Coffee Leaf Tea.

I consumed it black and to me it tasted like a blend of the two. It was easy to drink black but could be improved with some sweetener and/or some milk.

At just 12 mg of caffeine per cup, don't expect any energy effect from a cup of Coffee Leaf Tea.

Its claim to fame would be the antioxidant and phytochemical properties in the tea.

For those looking for a low caffeine alternative to coffee or black tea, Coffee Leaf Tea could be a good alternative.

It's also a great way for the health conscious to get more antioxidants and phytochemicals into their diets.

Coffee Leaf Tea is made from organically grown tea leaves and supports Nicaraguan Coffee Farmers.
