A Flat White is an espresso-based coffee drink with origins in New Zealand and Australia.

The drink has become popular worldwide.

In 2015 Starbucks began selling the flat white in their USA restaurants. They make theirs with ristretto shots of espresso and steamed milk.

In the UK, Starbucks has just one size of white (short) and it contains 150 mg of caffeine.

A typical flat white consists of a shot of espresso and micro-foamed steamed milk with a thin layer of velvety froth on top. It has a much stronger coffee flavor than caffe latte

In good cafes, skilled baristas will pour the micro-foamed steamed milk in a way that causes the crema to produce lovely designs on top of the froth.

Various sizes of Flat Whites are available and larger sizes generally have two shots of espresso for a total of 154 mg of caffeine.

Flat White caffeine can vary from cafe to cafe depending on quality/type of coffee used and precise measuring by the barista.
