Joe Buzz Caffeine Pouch
Joe Buzz caffeine pouches are unique candy/supplement/tobacco-like hybrids that are to be placed between your gum and cheek.
Saliva begins to release the caffeine and other energy ingredients, which then enter the blood stream through the lining of the mouth similar to the way chewing tobacco/snuff delivers nicotine. Just to be clear, Joe Buzz does not contain tobacco. The makers of Joe Buzz sent me a few samples to try for myself.
Joe Buzz Offers 3 Flavors
- Mint Chocolate: This was my top pick because I like mint chocolate and it did the best job covering up the bitterness of the coffee/caffeine.
- Grape: This flavor was ok but pretty bitter at times and I'm not sure grape and coffee go together.
- Watermelon: Again, this fruit flavor allowed more of the bitterness to break through.
All flavors have a slight aftertaste because of the artificial sweetener.
What's in These Pouches?
Each pouch contains coffee, caffeine, taurine, guarana, glucuronolactone, inositol, sucralose and is pretty compact. There are 6 pouches per pack.
A Little Pouch with a Decent Buzz
Joe Buzz may be a little guy, but he packs a pretty decent energy lift. Most people agree that oral transdermal caffeine delivery is a more effective way of getting caffeine into the bloodstream and I agree. The effects are felt within minutes and since this product is sugar-free there isn't a crash. Each pouch provides a good three hours of alertness without any jitters or nervousness. I personally don't like to have things between my cheek and gums, so I can't see Joe Buzz being a regular for me. But for those that don't mind this or for those trying to quit chewing tobacco, these could be great. They also seem perfect for occasions when caffeine is needed, but sipping on an energy drink is inconvenient. You know... like funerals, school, church, and weddings.
