Neuenergy chewable energy tabs are made by NeutriSci International and utilizes a new caffeine delivery technology in the form of combining caffeine with pterostilbene.
This causes caffeine's effects to last longer (25% extended half-life) than traditional caffeine and it delivers almost 30% more caffeine into the blood stream.
Caffeine and pterostilbene are combined as a co-crystal, which basically prevents the liver from metabolising the caffeine as fast so that more pure caffeine is able to saturate the blood stream. This enhances caffeine's effect on the brain and other bodily systems.
The company recently sent us some samples of Neuenergy to review.
Neuenergy comes in a small tube containing 6 chewable tabs, which equates to 3 servings.
Initially Neuenergy tastes great and has a pleasant berry flavor, but after disolving, a few minutes later, it reveals a slightly bitter and almost burning sensation on the tongue and in the back of the throat.
Not sure what that's about, but washing it down with water helps greatly.
Update: I just recieved this from NeutriSci about the flavor I experienced.
Pterostilbene has a very pronounced “lingering spicy” flavour to it. Most people describe it as a delayed reaction...meaning the spicy “burn in the throat” comes on after a minute or two from ingesting the product.
Energy and Effect
Each tab contains 59 mg of caffeine for a total of 118 mg per serving. It takes about 10 minutes to start noticing the effects of Neuenergy and they gradually increase to a nice feeling of alertness and increased motivation.
The biggest part of the lift lasted a couple hours before it started to gradually wear off. No crash was evident.
Overall, Neuenergy is an innovative product that does a good job of mimicking the effects of larger doses of caffeine but with much less. This assists people in staying within their daily safe dosage range.
The odd aftertaste of the product wouldn't keep me from using it and it's good to know that it is just the result of the natural ingredients used.
Neuenergy isn't recommended for children or those sensitive to caffeine.
