Rockstar Iced Energy Drink is a tea based drink from Rockstar Energy.
It looks like Rockstar Iced has been discontinued.
Iced is part of the Hydration line Rockstar started but has been since discontinued and rebranded as their Recovery line.
The outside of the can definitely grabs your attention, the gold and black can will be a big hit for the collectors, but there's a lot of drinks that have cool cans. It's the contents of the can that matters to us!
The aftertaste is what did it for me...
Heading into this I was very excited, I've been a big fan of all the other "tea" energy combos on the market and also a pretty good fan of peach, so this sounds like a match made in heaven, and cracking the top, the scent of the peach seems very promising. Not so fast my friends.
The instant this non-carbonated flavor touched my tongue I got a good peach flavor, but it quickly was followed by hard to drink aftertaste. It's sugar-free and that's where they went wrong. There's no sweetness at all, I think a little bit of sweetness would go a long way here, but the taste besides the very first second is more of a dry, vitamin taste.
Rockstar Iced didn't quite get me there...
It was hard to finish this can, but I did it. It wasn't but a few minutes after that I felt my energy level increase, but it never got as high as I expected or hoped. On top of that, it didn't last nearly long enough as many of the other Rockstar drinks have. Just about an hour and a half later, no signs of the energy it provided me remained.
After all I had to do to finish it, at least I thought it would propel me through a good chunk of my day, but it didn't. With the taste being less then desirable and energy level leaving me wanting more, Rockstar Iced Energy Drink is a 1 and done for me...
