Root9 Vitality Drink is a ginseng based energy drink that also contains caffeine through green tea extract.

We were recently sent some samples of Root9 for review.

Flavor Varieties of Root9

  1. Panax Red: This flavor has berry undertones with a slightly sour flavor at the finish. It isn't overly sweet and has a slight aftertaste from the artificial sweeteners.
  2. Panax Gold: This flavor is a bit hard to pinpoint but smells and tastes a bit like pineapple. It is much more sour than Red and not as enjoyable to drink. Gold also has a sweetener aftertaste, but in this case it is stevia.

Both flavors of Root9 have the same caffeine amount.

Along with the ginseng and caffeine Root9 Vitality Drink contains vitamins C, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12.

It is certified vegan and both GMO and gluten free. Red is sweetened with Ace-K and Sucralose, while Gold is sweetened with stevia.

Each can of Root9 Vitality Drink contains 500 mg of ginseng, which is believed to have multiple actions on the human body.

Root9's Effects

I experienced a slight lift from caffeine in Root9 and the ginseng seemed to produce an overall better sense of wellbeing and positivity throughout the day.

Research shows that 400 mg of Panax Ginseng seems to be the dosage needed for therapeutic benefit and Root9 contains 500 mg per can, so this beverage definitely has the ability to provide ginseng's many benefits as well as if not better than any ginseng supplement.

Overall, I liked Root9 Vitality Drink, but thought the Red was much more to my liking flavor-wise.
