Spike Shooter Energy Drink is an energy supplement made by Biotest.

This drink started in the diet supplement industry but there has been some cross-over to the RTD energy drink market. There have been multiple variations of the drink (originally starting as a concentrated 8.4 fl oz version).

From 2021 Spike Shooter increased to a 12 fl oz can - with the same flavor - but with coloring agents removed.

Spike Shooter's Stimulants

Spike Shooter contains a Proprietary Blend (see ingredients below). The blend contains:

  • The amino acid Acetyle-L-Tyrosine in as the first on the list. Tyrosine may be a mild central nervous system stimulant and some research suggests that N-acetyl-L-Tyrosine may have even more of a stimulant effect. Tyrosine in capsule form is usually around the 250-750mg dosage.
  • Yohimbine is an unusual candidate for an energy drink - as it is used to treat impotence. Dosages are low (6 mg).
  • Caffeine concentrated to 300mg / 12 fl oz.
  • B12 1000mcg
