Tube Shot Review
Since I've sampled close to 100 different energy shot products over the years, I'm always curious as to what new contenders bring to the table. After all, the competition in this category is fierce and the energy shot market as a whole has been losing some of its steam.
Tube Shot is sold in boxes of 3 shots per box for a total of 600 mg of caffeine per box. I was sent 3 of the 6 flavors available.
Taste
What do you get when you cram 200 mg of caffeine into just 9 ml? A bitter flavor. All 3 flavors that I sampled had a pretty bitter taste, but since the shot is small it doesn't last very long.
It was most notable in the Orange Tangerine flavor. The Cinnamon Fireball flavor hid it better, but the Grapefruit Infusion flavor was the best since grapefruit is expected to be bitter anyway.
The shots are sweetened with Sucralose and Ace-k but the caffeine is just too concentrated to cover it up completely.
Ingredients
I like that the caffeine in Tube Shot is derived naturally from coffee beans. Besides the caffeine, the shots contain niacin, B6, and B12.
Overall, Tube Shot has a pretty simple ingredients list and contains only natural preservatives, flavors, and colors.
The Effect
Tube Shot definitely packs a punch at 200 mg of caffeine, which by the way, is the recommended safe single serve dose limit.
It sets in within 10 minutes and it lasts 4-6 hours depending on your tolerance and sensitivity levels. I felt pretty decent effects for about 4.5 hours and used it in place of my second cup of coffee.
Overall, Tube Shot is a good product and differentiates itself from other shots by being a little more portable and quicker to consume.
Tube Shot is recommended for adults only who understand their tolerance level and sensitivity level to caffeine. Consumers should also be aware of their caffeine consumption from all sources when using this product and keep it within the recommended safe daily amount.
