Vibe Energy Gum

vibe-energy-gumDo you remember when you were a kid in chemistry class looking at test tubes full of things and you just wanted to open them and play with it? (probably not, but it was a habit of mine).

Well receiving the Vibe Energy Gum was like reliving my childhood. These little test tubes of energy love are some of the most confusing things I’ve ever eaten. The package clearly states gum yet when you open it up you have these tablets that look like vitamins.

Dubious to see what would happen I put one in my mouth, waited, chewed, and then suddenly the Vibe Energy Gum tablet morphed into gum. If that isn’t magic I don’t know what is.

If you open the tube and sniff it, it smells like, well, chewing gum and the same goes for taste. It’s light and refreshing and bares no resemblance to energy drinks or, well anything, but good old fashioned chewing gum. So Vibe is a great substitute for normal chewing gum, if you feel everything you eat has to give you a buzz… like me. One of the best things is that the taste doesn’t seem to fade even if it’s been a while since I started to chew Vibe. The flavor is still there and going strong.

According to the Vibe Energy Gum packet, every two tablets is the same as a 250ml can of  of your standard energy drink. However, it stated the effect was delivered 4-5 times faster and I have to say it was. Now I don’t do anything by half’s and I never have a single can so I ate the equivalent of 2 and a half cans in one go.

Within a few minutes I was more alert even though I didn’t sleep last night and I’m writing this review thanks to the fact that I’m chewing on the Vibe caffeinated goodness. Although its caffeine content is not mind blowing, you can eat a lot of it without even realizing it, so these magical tablets get the vote from me.

Per 2g piece we have: 40.5mg caffeine, 10mg Ginseng, and 3.5mg Guarana

Like a magnum shotgun shell, Vibe Energy Gum is a tiny tube packing a punch. Although it makes you look a bit mental eating things out of what looks like tiny cigar tubes, these things are pretty awesome. Best of all they fit perfectly into a shotgun cartridge holder so I can wonder the fields with a handily supply of my favorite substance.Luckily for me they slide all the way through my barrel so I can’t fire them, although the idea of fire caffeine does make me smile.

On a more serious note, Vibe Energy Gum is a good buy and they provided a good boost that doesn’t make you loose concentration. Vibe, you get the thumbs up here, it’s a great bit of caffeine based chemistry.

where do i get this amazing caffeine goodness?

  • eanowakattack

Vibe huh? I know that this is below the belt but these test tube energy products just make me think of adult toys.

  • Nick

Usually I stay away from energy gum mainly cause the first one I tried was from Mad Croc. The taste of that stuff wore out in 5 minutes and had a horrible rubber taste in 10. Though this don’t sound too bad, if I see them i’ll have to try em.

  • Tim

@eanowakattack, I completely understand what you mean! I’ve had a few energy shots that come in large test-tube vials…it’s basically a giant phallus. Even my parents agreed…dad said “It’s a good thing you don’t drink from the other end” and mom said “that looks like a marital aid!” (gotta love ’em…).

  • Evan

@Nick, I had the same experience with Mad Croc gum and haven’t touched caffeinated gum since haha.

  • Jimmy

As far as I’m concerned, 40mg of caffeine is not nearly enough for a pick-me-up or even enough to feel a slight increase in energy. I take my caffeine in 100mg or more doses no matter what.

  • James

In response to Jimmy if you do the math 1 tube of 10 pieces of gum totals 400mg – Just chew more! 100mg of caffeine in a piece of gum tastes terrible, Stay Alert proved that. This is a much more palatable idea! I’ve tried it – it’s good!

  • Where can you get this you ask? Well one of the only places in the States is!

  • Steve

After previously purchasing jolt and madcroc my friends and I thought we’d give Vibe a try!
For the premium price it for we were expecting alot better.
It tasted like old gum (chalky and little flavour, which didn’t last long before turning into non tasting rubber).
Unlike Jolt and Madcroc we felt little to no buzz.
We found Vibe to be a disappointing purchase.
    The tube looks good though!

  • Stewie

Tastes like rubber, and has no buzz at all. The tube looks cool, but seems upside-down to me. As with the caffeien taste, I couldn’t taste any at ll. This makes me believe that there really is none in them. I really don’t see why people don’t like the taste of caffeien, I really like it!

Overall, these get a thumbs down from me. My favorite caffeine substance, out of the ones I have tried, still has to be foosh mints!

  • Paul

This gum is the worst ever!
For the high premium price my friends and
we expected alot better than gum that tastes old / gone off ,crumbles in your mouth like your chewing on chalk and gives no buzz, Highly disappointed!
The tube looks ok but that’s all your paying for.
We’re sticking with MadC or Rock*.

  • You know, Caffeinedaddy has all of the gums mentioned here and it is in my humbled opinion that Vibe has the best flavor. Yes, 40mg of caffeine is not as much as some of the others, but chew 2 pieces then. The flavor does last.

  • Dean

Get the feeling Steve and Paul are the same “hater” just trying to bad mouth Vibe!? Could have been a bit more original in their choice of wording perhaps is a little obvious – Maybe they are the owner of Plow on the worst energy gum ever made!! ha hahaha x
