Consumer Reports Findings
In 2012 Consumer Reports tested 5 Hour energy and they came up with conflicting results as to what 5 Hour advertises.
- Regular = 215mg
- Extra Strength= 242mg
- Decaf= 6mg
215 mg is definitely more than an 8 oz cup of premium coffee.
5 Hour isn't recommended for children and has even been linked to seizure onset in at least one case. It should be used by healthy adults only and only as directed. Being one of the earlier energy shots to market, 5-hour has faced its share of scrutiny.
5 Hour Energy is more than just caffeine and contains other energy enhancing ingredients that can affect people differently than caffeine only products such as coffee.
