PerformElite is a pre-workout energy beverage made by EndurElite.

EndurElite makes a wide range of supplements focused on helping athletes perform better and recover more quickly.

PerformElite is focused on helping athletes train harder and longer before experiencing fatigue.

The company sent us a sample of PerformElite for review.

PerformElite Review

I'm pretty active at the gym, or hiking, biking, and paddleboarding in the mountains so I was excited to try PerformElite to see if it really did work to give me greater stamina and endurance than my usual pre-workout double shot espresso.

Flavor

I mixed a scoop of PerformElite with 8 fluid ounces of water but the directions state that it can be mixed with 8-16 fluid ounces depending on the consumer's preference.

The result was an easy to drink, fruit-flavored beverage that was on the sweet side at the minimum recommended concentration.  The flavor and sweetness did a good job of hiding the taste of the supplements.

Ingredients and Effect

PerformElite has a pretty extensive supplement list and includes the following:

  • Caffeine Anhydrous (150mg)
  • PurEnergy (150mg)
  • ElevATP (200mg)
  • Taurine (1500mg)
  • Peak O2 (1000mg)
  • Huperzine A (.05mg)
  • Choline Bitartrate (1000mg)
  • Beta-alanine (as Carnosyn®) (3200mg)
  • Beet Root Powder (1670mg)
  • ActiGin (50mg)

The caffeine in PerformElite is from two sources; first there is caffeine anhydrous and secondly, there is time-released caffeine in the form patented as "PurEnergy".

With the second type, caffeine is combined with pterostilbene to form a cocrystal which slows the rate it is broken down and metabolized by the human body.

I consumed this product about 30 minutes prior to my gym session. During my workout, I felt as though I had more energy during my gym session than I typically do. This allowed me to push out a few more reps and do my whole workout slightly faster.

In all, PerformElite probably contains about 75 mg more caffeine than I'm used to in my normal pre-workout coffee. However, because 75 mg of that is extended release, I didn't feel jittery or hyped up. I just felt like I had more stamina.

I liked PerformElite since it did a good job of combining supplements in a way that produced nice results opposed to other pre-workouts that I've tried which just hyped me up on caffeine.
