There haven't been as many energy shots entering the marketplace lately so I was curious to see what Woke Up had to offer.
Taste
Woke Up is pretty decent flavor-wise. The herbs and mushroom extracts definitely give the berry flavored shot "earthy undertones" but I didn't mind it. It's only 1.93 fluid ounces so it's not something that's meant to sit and sip on anyway.
Ingredients and Function
This is where Woke Up sets itself apart from other energy shots. It contains a lot of ingredients that aren't in typical energy shots like 5 Hour Energy and the likes.
The following are all the supplements in Woke UP: Niacin, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, Pantothenic Acid, Sodium, Yerba Mate Leaf Extract, Guarana Seed Extract, Organic Ashwagandha Root Powder, L-Theanine, Organic Cordyceps Mushroom Fruiting Body Extract, Rhodiola Root Extract, Organic Lion's Mane Mushroom Fruiting Body Extract.
The yerba mate and guarana supply the caffeine in Woke Up and that 225 mg does a great job of doing what the name of the shot suggests. It's a little more caffeine than I typically consume from my double espresso but because of the L-theanine, the effect is much more gentle than consuming a similar amount of caffeine from coffee beans. The shot kept me going throughout the afternoon.
Overall, I enjoyed Woke Up Energy Shot and like the innovation it's bringing to the energy shot category.
