7-Eleven Energy Shot or "7 Select Energy" as the bottle is labeled, is for sale in 7-Eleven convenience stores.
Their shot is similar to 5 Hour Energy Extra Strength but has a few additional ingredients like green tea extract and yerba mate extract. 7 Select contains all natural caffeine instead of the synthetic caffeine found in 5 Hour.

I recently picked up a bottle of the Passionfruit flavor at my local 7-Eleven to try out.

The flavor of the 7-Eleven Shot is pretty typical of energy shots. A really sweet tasting, fruity shot with noticeable energy ingredient and artificial sweetener aftertaste.
However, it's certainly drinkable and at just 2 ounces, it goes down quickly.
The Energy
The energy blend in 7 Select Energy is pretty impressive. Along with the 200mg of caffeine, here are the other energy ingredients and the amounts of each.
- B3: 40mg
- B6: 60mg
- B12: 480mcg
- B5: 20mg
- Glucuronolactone: 200mg
- N-Acetyl L Tyrosine: 100mg
- D-Ribose: 25mg
- Green Tea Extract: 25mg
- Citicoline: 10mg
- Yerba Mate Extract: 5mg
Both Green tea extract and yerba mate extract typically contain caffeine but at the amounts present would provide just a negligible amount of caffeine
Kudos to 7-Eleven for listing the caffeine amount.
I felt the effects in about 10 minutes and this 7 Eleven Energy Shot kept me going well into my work day.
Note: I don't consume caffeine daily, so these effects would be different for habitual caffeine users who have a tolerance to caffeine.
7-Eleven recommends that their shots be used by healthy individuals over the age of 16 and to limit the use of other caffeinated products when consuming their 7 Eleven Energy Shot.
We however, would recommend 7 Select Energy for healthy adults only.
7-Eleven Energy is about $1 cheaper than the other energy shots offered at the popular convenience store.
